Manzaralara Doymak Mümkün Değil

Day 1; we will meet you at Hotel Baur Au Lac in Zurich for a 10:00 a.m. luxury coach transfer to 5 star Hotel Bellevue Palace in Bern, our home for the next four nights. Our spacious and beautifully furnished rooms open onto views of the Jungfrau and the Bernese Alps. After our grand luncheon on the hotel terrace, we’ll embark on a walking tour of colorful, UNESCO-protected Old Town, with its 15th century architecture, patrician houses, arcades, bell towers and gardens.

Our excellent guide, Annalise, has arranged a visit to the tower room of the town’s elaborate medieval clock as it chimes the hour. It’s wonderful to see the wheels and gears of this ancient machinery start to spin and clatter as it comes time to chime. We’ll also visit the loveable bears of Bern, returning to our hotel by horse-drawn carriage. Late afternoon balloon adventure through picturesque rural countryside with quaint chalets and rich green hills. Evening dinner party at our hotel.

Day 2; after breakfast we’ll board an old fashioned lake steamer for a two hour cruise on the Thunsee. Enjoy a wonderful luncheon in the first class dining room, stopping at all of the lovely lakeside villages. The scenery is stunning! We’ll take the cog railway from Lauterbrunnen up through spectacular Alpine scenery to Kleine Scheidegg, at the base of the North face of the Eiger.

We‘ve passed several majestic glaciers and are half way to the top of the Jungfrau, the tallest mountain in Switzerland. Enjoy an ice cream cone before starting back down through the thrilling vistas. The valleys, the surrounding mountains! Everything is so big! And so interesting! It will be a memorable afternoon, yet to be filled with our late afternoon balloon adventure in the Swiss meadowlands, followed by dinner in Bern.

Day 3; morning excursion by chartered helicopter, flying from the base of the Jungfrau through some of the most staggering mountain scenery anywhere in the world. For nearly half an hour, our helicopters take us behind the Jungfrau for a good look at the Aletsch, the longest glacier in Europe, then past Kleine Scheidegg, our train stop from yesterday, up the North face of the Eiger.

We’ll explore dramatic glaciers and ice falls that create blocks of ice the size of houses. Be sure to bring your cameras! After a thrilling morning we’ll enjoy an elegant lunch at Interlaken’s luxurious Royal Victoria-Jungfrau Hotel, where we’ll be seated close by the grassy spot where the many sport parachutes touch down all day. Late afternoon balloon adventure through the charming summer pastures and farmlands of the Emmental, followed by an excellent dinner at our 5 star hotel.

Day 4; morning drive to the base of the Jungfrau Massif, for a visually thrilling tour of raging Trummelbach Falls. All of the melt water from all the glaciers on the west side of the Jungfrau, the Monk and the Eiger, flows into the Trummelbach River which rages down to the valley floor churning dramatically in 10 consecutive cascades…inside the mountain! We are able to visit this phenomenon via an in-the-mountain elevator and walkway system.

For lunch we’ll take the cable car through four stations up to Piz Gloria, the revolving restaurant on top of the Shilthorn made famous in the James Bond film, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. Across the valley the snow-capped peaks of the Jungfrau, the Monk and the Eiger are spectacular. Late afternoon balloon adventure through the picture-postcard Switzerland of dairy farms and chalets, with farewell dinner in Bern.

Day 5; we will depart our hotel at 10:00 a.m. and return to Zurich, arriving Hotel Baur Au Lac approximately noon.

The serene and spectacular landscape of Switzerland offers some of the most perfect areas in the world to enjoy by balloon.

The pristine countryside of the Emmental near Bern and the Alps is absolute perfection for our summer flights, and the gentle breezes of these lower hills are just what we need to entertain you. It is a beautiful area with emerald meadows, rolling green hills, colorful farms with precise and orderly geometric borders for which the Swiss are so famous.

The Bernese farm buildings, gaily painted and flower-bedecked, all against the spectacular backdrop of snow-covered Alps, allows us to create truly spectacular visual happenings. At our landings, the farmers and their families could not be more friendly and welcoming.

Make this unforgetable tour a journey of your life time.

How is a typical day spent?
Approximately one-third of each day will be devoted to our balloon adventure. The remainder of each day we’ll enjoy quality sightseeing with our private guides and fine dining in superb settings.

Do we change hotels?
No. On each trip we stay in one hotel, and explore the region each day by balloon and private car.

Do we travel in the balloons?
No. Our balloons are used for local, low level sightseeing only. We do not travel in the balloons.

How long is a typical balloon flight?
We are in the air approximately an hour and a half, except during our winter trips when our adventures are longer. Our balloon related activities occupy approximately a third of each day, including transfer to the take off site, inflation of the balloons and the wonderful happenings that occur at our celebrated champagne landings, shared with delighted villagers.

Is age a consideration in making the trip?
Absolutely not. Age is no barrier to enjoying our entire program. Our youngest guest was six years old and our most mature, 96.

Is there a feeling of motion in the balloon?
No. In the calm conditions in which we fly there is nothing that makes the basket sway. It hangs motionless in the air mass in which it is suspended. If a candle is held as we fly, it will not flicker. Tranquility and calm are words frequently used by our guests to describe the sensation they feel in our balloons.

Will I sit or stand in the basket?
Guests normally prefer to stand in our balloons, to more easily take in all the constantly changing, beautiful, and interesting scenery that surrounds us. However, we can easily accommodate those who wish to be seated.

What if a flight is postponed due to weather?
Our areas were chosen for their moderate weather and gentle wind patterns necessary for successful sightseeing in our balloons. Our trip dates coincide with the best weather in each of our areas. Our experience over 30 years is that weather has permitted 85 percent of our flights to operate on schedule. In the event a flight is postponed due to weather, your hosts and drivers will be standing by with alternate plans for enjoying the day.

How high do we fly our balloons?
Our goal is to create a full appreciation of the areas in which we fly. Whenever possible, we drift low enough to reach out and caress the treetops or to speak to people on the ground in little more than a speaking voice. It is a wonderful sensation to watch the beautiful countryside gently slip by, just beneath our feet.

Is there a plan for what we will see by balloon?
Yes. We have numerous take-off sites in all of our locales. We select one upwind of a castle, a vineyard or an area we would like to take you through, to drift downwind for a really good look.

Can you steer a balloon?
Our highly skilled pilots are able to adjust the balloon’s direction of drift by climbing or descending, to take advantage of layers of air moving in different directions.

How many times will we fly?
We plan to fly once each day, excluding departure day.

What is the size of your staff on each trip?
We have approximately as many staff as guests on each trip.

What is your advice about photography?
With our beautiful balloons and all the magic they produce, the number and quality of great photographic opportunities is remarkable. The views are spectacular and the many happy faces reflect the great joy our programs create. Indeed, bring your cameras. Our baskets are roomy and there will be ample space. Calculate how many pictures you might normally take on a trip of this length, and prepare for two or three times as many.

Which time of year is best?
Each of our trips, from January and February and June through October, has its own distinct personality, providing a consistent level of enjoyment. Choose your favorite season or destination.

How much balloon experience do you have?
We pride ourselves on an outstanding safety record during 30 years of operation. Our highly skilled staff pilots, each with more than 5,000 hours of balloon pilot experience, vastly exceeds the FAA requirement of 35 hours for a commercial balloon pilot’s license. In addition to demanding annual FAA safety inspections, our balloons must also pass our own regular maintenance and safety inspections.

Will I be comfortable in a balloon in winter?
Yes! Our trips are based in Gstaad, one of the lowest major ski areas in Europe, and well known for its mild winter weather. At only 3,100 feet above sea level, Gstaad is approximately one mile lower than Aspen and Vail, and enjoys much warmer winter temperatures. Average high/low temperatures in the Gstaad region are 39˚F/29˚F in January and 48˚F/30˚F in February. Notice in our video and dvd the absence of gloves on our guests. In fact, it can get quite warm. At noon on a sunny day, it is not unusual for our guests to remove their outer jackets.

Contributing substantially to your comfort is the fact that the balloons are always moving with the air mass in which they are suspended. Thus there is no wind to chill you. For further comfort, the summer heat shields are removed and warmth is radiated downward from the balloon’s heater. You will also find the balloon baskets quite spacious and comfortable.

Why is winter in the Alps so perfect for ballooning?
In general, winter winds in the Alps are the most gentle of the entire year. Cool winter air lying in the valleys is much more stable than the warm air of summer, and remains relatively calm for long periods of time. Soft breezes of less than 10 mph, the maximum wind in which we will launch our balloons, are the norm. They occur regularly and approximately 85 percent of our flights operate on the published daily schedule. In the event a flight is postponed due to weather conditions, your hosts and chauffeurs will whisk you off by private car to enjoy some of the many attractions of the area.

As a result of the valuable efforts of the Turkish Ministry Of Tourism, the travel insurance is now obligatory for all travelers by law. In addition, we kindly would like to aware you that most of the countries and their related consulates require a health insurance with a minimum coverage limit of Euro 30.000 to confirm your visa.

During your travel, you may have some health problems and high expenditures accordingly. Lost baggage, robbery, lost ticket, law issues, etc. are also within the possibilities of a travel. We highly reccomend a travel insurance to financially protect yourself abroad.

If you do already have a health insurance please double check if it is valid in and out of Turkey and if it covers also lost baggage, robbery, lost ticket, law issues, etc. Please be aware that some insurances are very cheap and do not cover most of the above mentioned topics. Please do not forget that the coverage limitations of an insurance is the most important thing to know.
